Second draft for layout of magazine cover

For my second draft i thought a lot about positioning and making things look professional, as i did with the second draft poster.
I decided for my second draft i wanted the masthead at the top, this is so it is visible if it is on a magazine stand, and so it stands out against the rest of the cover. To help it stand out i am going to make it in a clear and attractive font, this means it is going to need to be large and has to be a colour that stands out.
My picture is going to be in the centre, but i think i am going to have it so it covers the whole page and is the background, i think this is going to make the magazine cover stand out as the picture is going to be very large; i am unsure whether the picture should be a long shot so it shows her innocence in her pose, or a close up so it shows the despair in her face.
I put the date and price in a small size under the masthead, this means it is not a major part of the cover, but it is still on there as it is neccessary. The barcode is at the bottom in the corner, this means it is not a major attraction, but is still seen as it is necessary. On my further drafts i am not going to include the price/date/barcode because i am only going to add them on at the end if my poster or magazine cover gets chosen as the final one.
The information on either side of the picture is going to be in all different fonts and font sizes, saying information about different features of the magazine, e.g. top 40 singles of all time. This will be attractive as the colours will contrast with the background and they will all be part of the simple colour scheme i am going to have. I am not sure whether to have the information at one angle or different angles, and i am also going to see whether having information on both sides is to much, and if it would just be more effective to have information on one side.
I then put the film title under the picture, i did this because i was considering having a horror special as the main feature. I would also liquify the film title on the magazine cover because i want it to be liquified everywhere, even though if it is liquified differently on different pieces i think that would still look good. I am going to have the film title contrasting with the background and quite large, although not as large as the picture and the masthead, so they would be more attractive.
Finally, i put film review under the film title, i was going to put something like '5 stars - Empire', i think this would add to the excitment the magazine is going to bring to the film. I would put the review font colour the same as the film title colour, although i probably wouldn't liquify it. This means the magazine cover would still be simple and the colour would be one that contrasts with the background.
