For this magazine cover draft i decided to go with traditional magazines and put the masthead at the top. Although i was experimenting with different ideas on where to put things i felt the masthead would go the most noticed at the top. Below that i am considering putting quite a large picture that would be noticeable as it would be the largest thing on the page. I think this would be a good idea because the audience would know what film is the main article in the magazine just by glancing at it. Next to that i thought a little bit of writing about the main article would be a good idea so if the audience are really interested they could read a glimpse of it, i was thinking about putting a quote there that sums up the film, or the tagline of the film. The plug beneath the picture was going to be even more information that would attract the audience even more if they were a big fan of film reviews and film magazines. I was then going to have another picture which is slightly smaller than the other one below that. I think this would be a good idea the research i done shown that pictures are very popular on magazine covers. If my background was black and the main picture was grey i think this picture would have to be grey to to blend in with the rest. Overall, the structure is quite simple as it does not have too much writing and does not have too much going on in the cover. I think starting with a simple idea is good so you can decide what you are definatly having in your magazine before you start adding more detail.

For this magazine cover draft i decided to go with the traditional masthead again as i think it makes the magazine look professional and i wasn't sure where else it would look professional. The left hand third means people will be looking at more than just the main article when they look at the cover. I think this is a good idea because people who might not be interested in the main article may like the things on the left hand third. The picture on this one is also large, but when i do some more experimenting with where to place pictures i think i am going to have one covering most of the page. The picture here would be of the main article and i was considering having a myserious picture like one of the girl standing just outside the trees looking at the camera. The information on the main article below the picture would be quotes from different sources(other magazines, people who review films) giving it a rating. I think this is a good idea because then the audience can see different people's opinions and that can help them decide if they like the film just by seeing people opinions. The plug at the bottom would also give information to the audience such as who the film stars, the release date and the tagline. Overall, this is a fairly simple structure like my other plan. I have moved things around here though and included a left hand third. I like this structure better than the other one before i like the ratings, stars names, release date and tagline being at the bottom, because it means the top would be more focused on the pictures.
