On this draft of my film poster i decided to put a picture on, the picture seems quite small on paper but i intend to have the background of the picture to be black and the background of the poster to be black so it all blends in. Because of the genre we are doing i am thinking of doing a typical horror poster with red, grey and black colours. I decided to put who the film will star at the top so people who like them actors/actress' will want to see the film. I was going to have the tagline at the side of the main image of the film poster in white so it contrasts with the dark background. I was thinking of making the writing like blood hanging down like i was considering doing on my trailer. I am also thinking of having the title of the film in the same writing below the picture in white, so again it will contrast with the black background. I then put the release date below that so when people look at the large title their eyes automatically scroll down to the quite small release date, this will get people to remember when the film is released so they can go and see it. The billing block is then below that and would be in a small white font that you wouldn't really be able to see against a black background. I would not really want people to notice my billing block so i have to make sure i put it really small compared to my other writing. Overall i have used a structure which i think will work on my first draft film poster as i think it is in line and not all over the place, and also not too crowded.

On this draft of a film poster i decided to put the title at the top so when people scroll down the page it is the first thing they notice. I prefer the film title being in the middle, but i put it at the top to experiment and see if i liked it. The picture is quite similar to my other draft except the picture is more to the left. I think i would have the same picture on either one of them, a simple yet scary picture. I have the tagline next to the picture like i did on the other one, but then i also put the stars and the release date below it. I think this is good because when people glance at the picture they will automatically glance at the stars, release date and tagline. This is a good way to get people's attention so they take notice of more than just the picture. The billing block would then be underneath that, and again it would be hardly noticeable and in small writing that would contrast against the background. I like both of my first drafts, and although i prefer the first one i like some of the ideas from this one like where the stars, release date and tag line are placed.
