First draft poster on Photoshop

For my first draft on Photoshop I decided to put a picture in the background. I added some effects to the picture such as changing the contrast and saturation, this gave the poster an eery effect because it made it quite dark. I also darkened the top half of the background in the picture, this is so you couldn't see the outlines of the trees that much so it looked scarier because you couldn't see what is hiding in the trees behind her.
I then liquified the film title, this added to the eerie effect and the black behind it made it stand out; if i did this again on this poster i would change the black to red to see if the effect was eerier or not. The film title is the largest font so it is attractive, and because it is unusual it immediatly shows the film is going to be a horror.
The release date underneath the picture is also white with black behind it, and although it is not liquified I chose a font that resembled liquify the most. I made this smaller as it does not need to be as eye catching, but as it is right below the title people will automatically see it. I put it in italics to add to the unusual feel about the poster.
I then put the billing block right at the bottom, the font in the billing block is quite noticeable as it is large compared to normal billing blocks, and when the group decide on a final poster I think the billing block should have a smaller font. I decided not to put any information in the billing block because this poster is only a draft so I didn't think it would be neccessary.
The tagline is to the right of the poster, I think the tagline looks good here as you can clearly see it, even though I also think it would look good above the actress' head. The tagline has the same writing and black behind it as the other text, and I think this works here because it is really noticeable against the picture. My tagline might not be my final tagline, but I thought asking a question was good because it makes the audience think.
Finally, the actress' name at the top is in the same font as the others, but as behind the name is black it stands out a lot; I think this is good because people are attracted to films by the people in them. If an actors name is also put on the top Kate's name would be to the left, but I like there only being one name because it means all of the attention is on it.
I decided to keep it simple for my first draft, and see what works and what doesn't work.

Manipulated images

These are some images I edited on Photoshop.

This is the first image I manipulated on Photoshop; for this manipulation I experimented with many different effects on Photoshop, and as well as experimenting with different paint brush tools in filter, I also experimented with the contrast, hue and saturation. I have not taken the date off on this image as I did not think it was necessary but for my final magazine cover image I will take the date off. I like how the girl is just a figure and can not be seen in detail, as it makes the background look more noticeable, this makes the audience think something will be hiding in the trees. I also like the artistic effect this image as although I know it wouldn't be suitable for my magazine cover or the poster as I want the actress to be seen more in my drafts. However, it was good experimenting with Photoshop as every time I use it I become more confident with it and become more experienced putting different effects on.

For this image I decided to make it darker using dark blue. This means the background is dark which I like as you can just see the outline of the trees, I also like her face being shown and how the picture has an effect on it which makes it look a bit blurry. I experimented with different colours for this image and another colour I liked was dark green, although I think the blue made it look scarier. I decided to edit this image as I thought the pose she was doing would look good edited as it is quite a scared and innocent pose.

This is my favourite image out of the images I manipulated. This is because I like how it is sharpened and also her eyes look like they're giving someone a scary glance. The black background adds to the darkness of the picture, and if I changed it I would experiment with having a few tree outlines behind her. I think I should have taken the date out of this image to make it look more professional, but it is only the first set of manipulated images so if I decide to do anything with this picture I can always edit the date out.

28th September 2010

In this lesson we were working individually on drafts for our magazine's and posters. Today I mainly worked on how to make a horror poster look good (I experimented with different effects on Photoshop such as liquify.)

Firstly, I placed a picture I took of Kate because I knew when I took it I wanted to use it. This gave me ideas for more pictures of Kate because it made me think of similar poses Kate could do; I realised I need to focus on the background picture more to get it perfectly how I want when we next take photos. I will then manipulate the images and experiment with different effects again so I can make my poster and magazine cover look professional and scary.

Second draft for layout of magazine cover

For my second draft i thought a lot about positioning and making things look professional, as i did with the second draft poster.
I decided for my second draft i wanted the masthead at the top, this is so it is visible if it is on a magazine stand, and so it stands out against the rest of the cover. To help it stand out i am going to make it in a clear and attractive font, this means it is going to need to be large and has to be a colour that stands out.
My picture is going to be in the centre, but i think i am going to have it so it covers the whole page and is the background, i think this is going to make the magazine cover stand out as the picture is going to be very large; i am unsure whether the picture should be a long shot so it shows her innocence in her pose, or a close up so it shows the despair in her face.
I put the date and price in a small size under the masthead, this means it is not a major part of the cover, but it is still on there as it is neccessary. The barcode is at the bottom in the corner, this means it is not a major attraction, but is still seen as it is necessary. On my further drafts i am not going to include the price/date/barcode because i am only going to add them on at the end if my poster or magazine cover gets chosen as the final one.
The information on either side of the picture is going to be in all different fonts and font sizes, saying information about different features of the magazine, e.g. top 40 singles of all time. This will be attractive as the colours will contrast with the background and they will all be part of the simple colour scheme i am going to have. I am not sure whether to have the information at one angle or different angles, and i am also going to see whether having information on both sides is to much, and if it would just be more effective to have information on one side.
I then put the film title under the picture, i did this because i was considering having a horror special as the main feature. I would also liquify the film title on the magazine cover because i want it to be liquified everywhere, even though if it is liquified differently on different pieces i think that would still look good. I am going to have the film title contrasting with the background and quite large, although not as large as the picture and the masthead, so they would be more attractive.
Finally, i put film review under the film title, i was going to put something like '5 stars - Empire', i think this would add to the excitment the magazine is going to bring to the film. I would put the review font colour the same as the film title colour, although i probably wouldn't liquify it. This means the magazine cover would still be simple and the colour would be one that contrasts with the background.

Second draft for layout of poster

This is my second draft of a poster, i decided to focus of my positioning this time so everything doesn't look out of place. I think i was successful in this except with my tag line, i am not sure about the positioning of my tag line as i think it looks a bit out of place on the right hand side. I also think i could have included a release date and a review of the film, and to do this i would have to look at repositioning my picture or making it a bit smaller.
Firstly, i started off with my film name, which is 'Click', i called it this because it is short and simple and it gives off a clue to what the film is about. I decided to put the title of the film under the poster so when people look at the large image their eyes go down to the poster. I am thinking about liquifing the title and making it either red, white or black. This will give the effect that the film is a horror/thriller, and that is what we want.
I then placed the image in the centre of the poster because it will be the most obvious and eye catching thing on the page, i want my image to show the girl's innocence, so i am thinking about having a long shot so you can see what she is wearing and she can pose innocently. I am also considering having the picture cover the whole page, so then it will be very noticeable and the writing on the page can be contrasting colours to the background (e.g black and white).
I then placed my tag line to the side of the picture, i am not sure on a tag line but i am thinking about 'was he only being friendly?', i think this would be a good tag line because it makes the audience think and also intrigues them about what is going to happen in the film. I think the tag line will either be in red, white or black to stick with the colour scheme i want, and i want the font to be in italics and maybe bold so it is noticeable.
I put my billing block at the bottom of the page, this is because i don't really want it to be noticeable, i think i will also have it small and in a simple font. This means when people look at the poster the billing block will not really be noticed. Billing blocks have increased over the years due to the technology being introduced, this means the billing block will be longer and is important, but considering this it is not the most important thing on the page to viewers.
I put my actors/actress' names at the top of the poster, this is because although they are not the main part of the poster, they could still attract people to see the film so they need to be
noticeable. I think i might only have an actress on my further posters but i am not sure so i put both in this time, if i only had an actress' name it would be in the centre instead of on the left. This would be in the same font as the tag line as i think it would look too complicated if they were different, so this would be italic and maybe bold too.

Further storyboard and transript

For this storyboard we all put our best ideas together to make a storyboard which was the best it could be, and which we were all a part of. We discussed in detail what we wanted each part of the storyboard to be, and discussed things such as shots, sounds and what details like what the actress will be wearing. When we were doing our storyboard we were unsure of how long the trailer was going to be, so we've decided when we have made the trailer to add bits in, or if it's too long to take bits out. Towards the end of the storyboard a lot of the shots are short takes so this fits in with the genre we are doing - horror. This will add tension to the trailer as well as making the audience want to see the film, as they will want to know why the stuff in the short takes happens (e.g. the hand print). As a group we haven't decided on a name for our film yet or a tagline, but we all have our own ideas and we will decide one together soon.

We were going to start with an esatblishing shot on a surburban street, with a row of houses, giving the effect the girl is just a normal girl with a normal life. We were going to have the lighting like a bright day, so it juxtaposed what is about to happen, this could give the audience a clue what is going to happen later on. It would then cut to a scene of the girl locking the door, to suggest she has locked herself away from life as she know's it. When this is happening there would be birds tweeting in the background, to re-enforce the idea of it being a normal surburban street.
As a group we all liked the camera flash idea so there would then be a camera flash which would lead the trailer to a black background, with the production logo on it. When this is happening you would start the hear the humming of the girl, this would add tension to the trailer over time, but at first would seem quite scary.
There would then be a wide shot of the girl walking through a field and opening the gate she is about to walk through, this would help the audience know where she is meant to be, there would then be a close up of the gate closing, so it shows she has gone past the innocence now. Whilst this is happening it would still be daylight, so it doesn't get scary straight away. The humming would be continuing in this scene, along with the sound of an old gate closing.
After that there would be a high angle shot of a girl walking through the woods, this shows someone has power over the girl, this shows the audience that someone is going to be introduced who has power over the girl. At this time the girl would be walking through the woods, so therefore there wouldn't be much light. The humming would be bridged in this bit of the trailer, and we were considering the idea of some light piano music in the background.
There would then be a long shot of the girl walking through the woods, but it would be behind her so you can't see her face, this would build tension as you don't know who's behind her. Whilst this was happening it would be getting darker, so it's getting scarier. The humming then continue, with the light piano music playing over the top of it.
After that there would be a long shot behind the girl, but it would also be a point of view shot. This would show the audience someone is definitly following her and would intrege them to find out who it was. We were also going to put a camera view finder on this shot, so it seems like someone is taking pictures of the girl. We'd have heavy breathing when the long shot is happening, which would stop and you would hear a camera clicking. The camera click would take you to the next shot, which would be a magazine quote about the film. Whilst this is happening the humming would fade out and the piano music would stop, then the trailer would end.

This is the story board:

These are the singular shots:

Third meeting - story board and draft images

Today our group had our third meeting to discuss our storyboards and original images. For this meeting we brought our storyboards and all of the pictures we had taken. We done this so we could look in closer detail about all of the images taken and decide which ones we prefer and which ones we disliked. We also looked at each other's storyboards in detail and picked the best ideas out of them for ideas for a joint one. One of the problems we encountered when we were getting ideas for a joint storyboard was that we didn't know how long it would be when we made the trailer out of it. When we looked at the images we had taken on our first photo shoot we decided which ones were good and worth using, and which ones would not be much use. We looked at the images together to help us for ideas for our next photo shoot -e.g. what poses we should keep for next time. We also shown the group our story board's individually and explained them so people knew exactly what each slide meant. The other people in the group took notes while someone done this, so everyone would have notes on each others. We done this because when we do our joint story board everyone will have details on each others that could help decide what would be best to put in it. All of the story boards were quite similar as we had discussed the basic plot before the made them, this meant we could easily take the best ideas for our joint storyboard as none of the ideas we had would be anomaly's.

These are the notes from everyone's storyboards...

Firstly, I explained my own story board to the group, and then Aimee explained hers.

Aimee - Aimee's storyboard started with an establishing shot of the street - the shot was summery and it had a happy feel. Here she has added dialogue - 'bye just walking the dog.'
Secondly there was a wide shot of the girl coming out of the door and saying bye to her mum.
Thirdly, next shot is an extreme wide shot of her walking her dog.
The fourth shot is the producer logo and a camera clicks as the producer logo comes on. The next shot.
Next there is going to be the girl walking her dog in the woods, this is when the trailer will start to get suspcisious.
Then there will be a high angle shot of the girl walking her dog, to show someone has power of the girl.
After that there will be another click and her walking away from the camera, and this will go into the tagline for the film.
Then there will be a heartbeat sound and a close up of her to show the fear developing in her face.
Next there will be a quote from a film reviewer on a black background and maybe with red text.
Then there will be a wide shot of the girl running away from whoever is following her, this then goes to short cuts of a bloody hand print on a tree, someone looking at her when she's in the woods, her lying on the floor panting and a 'DUM' sound at the end of the last one.

Next Hannah presented her story board to the group.

Hannah - Firstly there will be a long shot of the girl and her dog happily running around in the trees.
Then there will be a black flash and it will have the title of the film.
It will then have a flash again to her screaming, it will be raining and be in twilight.
Then there will be a black flash to the actors/actress' names with creepy music throughout.
Next it will go to trees and it will be dark and it will have a hand coming out of the soil all disfisgured.
Then it will have a black background and the release date on it.
Finally, it will have a black screen and creepy music to fade.

Finally, Sally presented her story board to the group.

Sally - Firstly there is going to be a close up of the girl's facing closing the door as she is leaving to walk her dog.
Then it is going to cut to a shot of the girl putting the key in the lock.
It is then going to cut to to a black screen with white lettering, and you will hear humming music in the background.
Then it will go to a wide shot of a very surburban street, and the girl walks from left to right across it.
There is then a low angle shot of the sky, with the humming continuing, and it will pan down into a point of view shot.
Then there will be someone standing behind her, and it will make it look like someone is watching her from behind a camera lense.
Next there will be a camera click to black, the humming will stop, and then there will be a tag line.
Then the shots will become shorter and a bloody hand will quickly come up on the screen.
Then a close up of the girls face with black around her and you can just hear her breathing.
Next you will see a face appear and then you will hear a camera click, it will go to black and you will hear a scream.
Then you will hear crazy music and you will see flashes of her running through the woods.
Then you will see a close up of her looking around panicking.
Then it will go to the middle of a clearing with loads of pictures of the girl hanging from trees like a shrine and the lights will be low - there will be candles and it will have an eerie effect.
Finally, the music will stop, there will be a flash, an echo of a scream and the title of the film.
Next the music will be slow and you

Draft pictures

For our first draft images we took our actress to the woods and took different types of photos to her to see which ones we liked best and what poses and angles worked best to create a horror effect. We decided to take the pictures in the dark so we have an idea of how scary pictures we could make pictures look in the dark, we took it in turns using the camera to take the shots we wanted. None of these pictures have been edited on Photoshop, and next time I think it is a good idea to focus on costume and the actress' pose and how she is standing or sitting.

First image -

I think this would be a good image as it gives the idea of distortion and mystery, as you cannot see the actress' face properly. The blurred image adds interest, but i do not think it would be attractive on a magazine front cover as it would not attract as much attention as a striking image would. I like the darkness of the background and i think i would like a background like that on the next set of pictures that are taken.

Second image -

In the second image the same dark background has been used, but the trees are more visible in this which i like as it shows the audience where the setting is without giving too much away. I like the scared image on the actress' face and how is she looking to somewhere not visible on the camera as it shows something suspicious is happening that is not obvious. I also like the lighting on her face because it adds even more attention to her scared expression.

Third image -

I like this picture because you can see the woods behind the actress, which gives the picture a sense of mystery because no one knows whats's in the woods. You can see her clothing too which adds to her innocent look, and again her scared facial expression adds to the wonder of what's beyond the camera. Her holding onto the tree makes it seem like she needs something to protect her so it makes her seem helpless against whoever is following her.

Fourth image -

The fourth image has a dark background and you can only see the floor. The dark background is against the actress' back so she can't see behind her, this would make the audience think something is hiding in the blackness. She is looking down so this makes her even more innocent as she seems oblivious to anything going on. The way she is holding her hands together makes it seem like she is nervous about something. I really like this picture so i am definatly considering using it.

Fifth image -

The fith image is a close up of the actress looking beyond the camera. The close up means you can see the detail in her scared face, and you can also clearly see her holding her hand to the tree for protection. The mysterious background makes you think something could creep up behind the actress as she is not looking. I also like this image and i am also considering using this one.

Initial transcript

When me and my group had discussed ideas for our trailer we never really considered sounds, so we decided to write individual transcripts to see what sounds would go best with our trailer. When we had the basic plot and started to look in more detail this is when we realised our trailer needed dialogue/sounds to make it more successful.

This is my basic transcript:
'Mum i'm going out now i'll be back around 7'
'Okay see you then dinner will be ready'

I would then put heavy breathing in when she is looking round to see who is following her.

Then when she realises i would this 'AHHHH! SOMEBODY HELP ME, PLEASE' and then the man whispering 'no'.

This is not a lot of dialogue but it is only a basic idea and after the audience research i done i realised not much dialogue in a horror trailer is a good idea.

Meeting log two - the progress we are making

We decided to meet up quite soon after the summer holidays and we discussed the planning we had done over summer - this includes storyboards, first draft film posters and first draft magazine covers. We looked at the work each other had done and discussed the ideas with each other, everyone had similar ideas about what we want our trailer to be like - e.g. scary with eerie music. Everyone was nearly at the same point in planning and we discussed our roles further to make sure everyone was happy with them and knew exactly what they were doing. I am the director so i will be making sure the actress is standing in the right place and making sure the crew are all positioned properly. I will also be controlling how the film will look and what everyone will look like and turning the script into a sequence of shots. They are some of the most important jobs i will be undertaking as well as other jobs. When me and my group were discussing the trailer we all had the basic story line and we all agreed how the story line should go, we also have ideas for original images in our heads after our discussion. We all decided we want the trailer to be mainly set in a wooded area when it is dark to give the trailer an automatic scary feel. We want a girl to be walking a dog and to walk into the woods and there will be a man following her taking pictures. We also discussed an actress for the film and decided Sally's sister would be good for the role as she is younger than us and has innocence, and is also easy accessible. Over some i also done some further research on jobs of a director so i got more of a sense of exactly what my role is in my filing process.

First draft film posters

On this draft of my film poster i decided to put a picture on, the picture seems quite small on paper but i intend to have the background of the picture to be black and the background of the poster to be black so it all blends in. Because of the genre we are doing i am thinking of doing a typical horror poster with red, grey and black colours. I decided to put who the film will star at the top so people who like them actors/actress' will want to see the film. I was going to have the tagline at the side of the main image of the film poster in white so it contrasts with the dark background. I was thinking of making the writing like blood hanging down like i was considering doing on my trailer. I am also thinking of having the title of the film in the same writing below the picture in white, so again it will contrast with the black background. I then put the release date below that so when people look at the large title their eyes automatically scroll down to the quite small release date, this will get people to remember when the film is released so they can go and see it. The billing block is then below that and would be in a small white font that you wouldn't really be able to see against a black background. I would not really want people to notice my billing block so i have to make sure i put it really small compared to my other writing. Overall i have used a structure which i think will work on my first draft film poster as i think it is in line and not all over the place, and also not too crowded.

On this draft of a film poster i decided to put the title at the top so when people scroll down the page it is the first thing they notice. I prefer the film title being in the middle, but i put it at the top to experiment and see if i liked it. The picture is quite similar to my other draft except the picture is more to the left. I think i would have the same picture on either one of them, a simple yet scary picture. I have the tagline next to the picture like i did on the other one, but then i also put the stars and the release date below it. I think this is good because when people glance at the picture they will automatically glance at the stars, release date and tagline. This is a good way to get people's attention so they take notice of more than just the picture. The billing block would then be underneath that, and again it would be hardly noticeable and in small writing that would contrast against the background. I like both of my first drafts, and although i prefer the first one i like some of the ideas from this one like where the stars, release date and tag line are placed.

First draft magazine covers

For this magazine cover draft i decided to go with traditional magazines and put the masthead at the top. Although i was experimenting with different ideas on where to put things i felt the masthead would go the most noticed at the top. Below that i am considering putting quite a large picture that would be noticeable as it would be the largest thing on the page. I think this would be a good idea because the audience would know what film is the main article in the magazine just by glancing at it. Next to that i thought a little bit of writing about the main article would be a good idea so if the audience are really interested they could read a glimpse of it, i was thinking about putting a quote there that sums up the film, or the tagline of the film. The plug beneath the picture was going to be even more information that would attract the audience even more if they were a big fan of film reviews and film magazines. I was then going to have another picture which is slightly smaller than the other one below that. I think this would be a good idea the research i done shown that pictures are very popular on magazine covers. If my background was black and the main picture was grey i think this picture would have to be grey to to blend in with the rest. Overall, the structure is quite simple as it does not have too much writing and does not have too much going on in the cover. I think starting with a simple idea is good so you can decide what you are definatly having in your magazine before you start adding more detail.

For this magazine cover draft i decided to go with the traditional masthead again as i think it makes the magazine look professional and i wasn't sure where else it would look professional. The left hand third means people will be looking at more than just the main article when they look at the cover. I think this is a good idea because people who might not be interested in the main article may like the things on the left hand third. The picture on this one is also large, but when i do some more experimenting with where to place pictures i think i am going to have one covering most of the page. The picture here would be of the main article and i was considering having a myserious picture like one of the girl standing just outside the trees looking at the camera. The information on the main article below the picture would be quotes from different sources(other magazines, people who review films) giving it a rating. I think this is a good idea because then the audience can see different people's opinions and that can help them decide if they like the film just by seeing people opinions. The plug at the bottom would also give information to the audience such as who the film stars, the release date and the tagline. Overall, this is a fairly simple structure like my other plan. I have moved things around here though and included a left hand third. I like this structure better than the other one before i like the ratings, stars names, release date and tagline being at the bottom, because it means the top would be more focused on the pictures.

First draft story board

Each member of my group had to make their own story board containing their own ideas about the trailer and what order things should go in. Although we are doing the trailer together we thought it would be best to do seperate story boards so all of our individual ideas can be shown and how we want them to be shown. This would also make us make the most out of our ideas as we can put everything we have thought about on the storyboard clearly. Here is the first draft of my story board:

This is the first draft of my story board, as you can see it is very basic as i have decided to have basic ideas at first and then add more detail when i do my final story board.

Slide 1-
This would be the opening slide for the trailer. It means the trailer would start off all nice and happy, and then suddenly would get scarier as the trailer goes on. I liked the innocence of the girl walking the dog in a seeminly safe environment as this would make the audience wonder what is going to happen to the girl straight away. I would start the opening off with an establishing shot so the audience can establish where she is from and what type of girl she is. I would then cut to a midshot of the girl so the audience can see the innocence in her costume, posture and face.

Slide 2-
For the second slide I have decided to put a black screen on my story board, text could later be added into it as i develop my storyboard. I decided a black screen with be appropriate as it would contrast with the happiness of the girl innocently walking her dog. A black screen could also be used to introduce the man following the girl because as the black screen goes he could be standing there. I think a black screen could be useful for many reasons as it could add a sense of fear to the trailer, but also mystery as the audience will wonder what is going to come up after it. It would also be a good idea to add clicking noises when the black goes in or out so it gives the impression of someone taking a picture of someone else.

Slide 3-
This slide is a girl walking through the woods with her dog, she is still unaware of danger, although the audience would know something strange is happening at this point due to eerie music that would be played non-diegetically. I would start this as a medium shot so it just seems normal, and then slowly zoom in so it is a close up of the girl and her innocent facial expression. This shot would start off light but slowly get darker as she walks in to the trees. When she walks into the trees i would have the non-diegetic clicking noise again to add the suspision to the trailer and to make the audience excited to know what will happen.

Slide 4-
On the fourth slide i decided to have the black background again but this time with actors/actress' names. I thought this would be a good idea as good, likeable actors would make people want to see the film. I also thought the black would be good because it adds to the sense of darkness that is being made. I would add the camera click here as well to add even more to the mystery of the trailer. Having the actors/actress' names in white or red with the effect of the letters being dripping blood would be a good idea because it would add to the sense of and fear that is building up. It would also add detail to the trailer because the font would be more appealing being detailed and than just an average font.

Slide 5-
This would be the bit where the figure of a man would appear in the trees and hopefully make the audience jump. The man would just be a shadow at this point with no detail in his face to keep the suspense building up. The girl would start to look scared and she realises there is someone behind her. I am not sure what shot i would use for this yet, i am thinking a midshot as it would get both the girl and the man in, whereas a closeup would only get one of them. I might go to a close up of the girl's face after the midshot so the audience can see the fear in her face. If i did use a close up i would use the clicking noise again but this time diegetically so when she hears it she looks even more scared.

Slide 6-
For this one i was going to have a black background to again. After the clip the audience will have just seen a black background will make them more scared, especially if i have the blood writing for the release date too. I think having a release date on my story board is a good idea as the audience will know key information about the film. I will discuss with my group how they feel about a release date to see if it should be put in the trailer. I was going to have the camera flash noise again when the release date comes up to keep the continual suspense that the camera flash would cause going.

Slide 7-
In this one the girl starts to run away and the man starts to chase her. You get a more detailed image of the man because he comes closer to the camera as he chases her. You still don't get to see him in detail, just more a person rather than just a figure. When this is happening it would be dark outside with rain, thunder and lightning. I would also have the diegetic sound of the girl screaming - "AHHHHHH". I am also considering a close up of the girls face as she is looking round for the man, and then his shadow suddenly appears behind her. I was also considering putting the clicking noise in when the girl is looking around but i think her screaming would give just the right effect.

Slide 8-
I thought having a black screen to end it would be a good idea as it wouldn't give the ending of the film away and would leave the audience wondering what would happen. I would have a straight cut to black so it cuts from the previous scene quickly. I think trailer should be ended on a cliffhanger as that would make the audience want to see the film more than if it gave the ending away. I was considering putting writing on the black screen but i will discuss that with my group because i think it would have a good effect if it was just black.
