First Meeting

When we had our first meeting we discussed which genre we would like our trailer to be. As a group we decided to do the horror genre, we decided this because we would get the chance to use more effects and sounds and this would help us when editing the film. To help us make a definite decision we watched some trailers as a group of the Horror and Thriller genres. The trailers we watched were The Lovely Bones, One Hour Photo, Hill have Eyes, American Beauty, Last House On The Left, Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows, Inception and Amityville Horror. This helped everyone in the group decide what they wanted in the trailer, and everyone had what camera angles, sounds and edits they wanted in the trailer. We then came together and shared our ideas for out first draft. We then agreed on the ideas we all liked and decided they should be in the trailer. We decided for the first bit of the film it would a girl taking a walk in the woods on her own. We also decided that there would be straight cuts and camera clicking noises at the same time, so it would give the effect of someone taking pictures of the girl. Between each cut we were going to have a screen with text on to inform the audience, and to also build tension. After a few shots of the girl walking around the woods we would have short takes showing different things happening. We spoke about having a hand coming out of the ground in one of these short takes and blood hand prints on the tree, all of these shots would be in the woods at night.
